Graduate Job Interview Advice

by Qian Zhang
(London)

Hi, I failed in a few job interviews with employers of graduate programs and I am seeking advice to identify possible areas I need to improve my interview skills. Thank you.
Kind Regards
Qian Zhang

Hi Qian
Graduate job interview advice is pretty much the same as any other job interview advice.

Here is my list of the top ten job interview tips that I think will help you.
(pay particular attention to No.1: Your Job Interview Is A Sales Appointment)

The other thing I would add to this list is to get together with a friend and video a mock interview with the camera on you. Then review the footage looking for things that you could do better, both in what you say, how you say it, and the body language you demonstrate. Get your friend to critique it as well.
Reviewing yourself in an interview situation has proved to be very beneficial to many of my clients.
The exercise of seeing yourself in the interview process provides insightful nuggets and frequently results in immediate and significant improvements.

Also, see my notes on job interview questions and job interview answers.
I hope this helps and best of luck with your next graduate job interview.

Thanks
Simon
