Many years ago I left an excellent dream job here in the US because of a change in immediate management. The new manager was of different cultural background and proved to be more difficult to work with as a manager. And he dealt with women as his cultural group demanded. I asked for reassignment. I took my plea to Human Resources and was rebuffed.
The only choice was to live with constant discrimination or leave. There was an outcry from other women who had the same experience but, the company chose to stand behind the man. In the end, it led to a better situation, better work and more growth in a related, but different profession. It was tough to walk away from the security and pension.
